My first experience there … decided to join my girl whom has been volunteering weekly for the past 6 weeks.
Great experience - able to help out & contribute to those in needs.
Very impressed with the efficiency, friendliness & politeness of all the staffs & volunteers.
A meaningful experience … will surely be going back with the family often 👍🏼
It may be intimidating when everybody seems so occupied and busy at their work station.
Don’t be afraid to ask. A helping hand is just an ask away.
So heartwarming to witness how first timers are able to settle in so easily with the help of the surrounding kind souls.
I had a great time volunteering at Willing Hearts last Saturday organized by company. My tasks included packing food and helping prepare rice for steaming. It was a wonderful experience, knowing that I was part of a team making sure people in needed got a good meal on time. I'm thankful for the opportunity to help, and I look forward to doing more in the future.
"A small step by you, together it is a big step forward."
Nice place with a good cause to provide meals for needy beneficiaries.
But as a new volunteer it’s tricky to understand what to do, as you turn up but you are not aware or assigned any role up front.
After the check in I wandered around the corridor until chanced upon the vegetable cutting section where I was put in a seat. They have pretty strict rule on what part of the vegetable they want, even slightly yellow edged leaves are discarded, also the editable flower section of the kailan is thrown away. I find that a bit strange but it’s their rules
Half way was asked to help in kitchen instead to push trolleys.
Overall fine, but could be more beginner friendly
Insanely well run soup kitchen! A great activity to give back to the community, meditative in it's practice and I really enjoyed the volunteering experience. Do expect to sweat but you'd step out with a smile no doubt! :)
